FORK LIFT TRUCK – NOVICE OPERATOR
Three to Five Day Course
For:
Trainees that have no previous experience of operating fork lift trucks and are
over the age of 17 with a reasonable degree of fitness.
Aim:
Trainees will be able to operate a truck safely and correctly in accordance with
the manufacturer’s handbook and accepted good practice. They will clearly
understand the causes of instability of truck and truck loads and be able to
carry out a routine daily or pre-shift inspection of the truck. This course
will also provide underpinning knowledge for an NVQ.

FORK LIFT TRUCK – EXISTING
OPERATOR
Two
to Three Day Course
For:
Trainees that have some previous experience of operating fork lift trucks and
are over the age of 17 with a reasonable degree of fitness.
Aim:
Trainees will be able to operate a truck safely and correctly in accordance with
the manufacturer’s handbook and accepted good practice.
They will clearly understand the causes of instability of truck and truck loads
and be able to carry out a routine daily or pre-shift inspection of the truck.

Experienced Lift Truck
Operatives who wish to progress to becoming an Instructor. A minimum of 6 months
industrial operating; documentary evidence of passing the Practical Test(s) of
Operating Skills endorsed by RTITB Limited, within the 12 months preceding the
course start date.
